Warren Kenneth Worthington III, also known as Angel and later Archangel, is a founding member of the X-Men. Born into a wealthy family, Warren discovered his mutant ability – large, feathered wings that allowed him to fly – during his adolescence.

Initially embracing his powers with enthusiasm, he used them to fight crime before being recruited by Professor Charles Xavier to join his School for Gifted Youngsters. As Angel, he fought alongside the original X-Men against various threats to mutants and humanity.

Over time, Warren faced numerous challenges that drastically altered him. A pivotal encounter with the villain Apocalypse led to the amputation of his original wings and their replacement with techno-organic, metallic ones. This transformation turned him into Apocalypse's Horseman of Death, Archangel, granting him enhanced power but also corrupting his personality.

Though eventually freed from Apocalypse's control, Warren struggled to reconcile his original, benevolent self with the darker aspects of Archangel. His complex character arc explores themes of identity, power, and redemption within the X-Men universe.
